Open Door Homeless Project

The Open Door is just that! Every week from 8:30am on a Friday morning we open our doors and welcome 50-70 men and women who are affected by homelessness, alcohol or substance abuse or who are simply lonely.

We serve a freshly cooked 3 course breakfast ‘restaurant’ style and offer a hair cutting service, run a clothing bank and provide facilities to have a shower – all free of charge!

We offer a multi-agency approach to support those guests who are facing difficulties and most weeks welcome representatives from: NHS Blood-Born virus clinic, NHS Community Mental Health Nurse (CMHT), Bournemouth Street Services Team (CRI), The Big Issue Foundation and a Homeless Outreach Worker from Faithworks Wessex.

We don’t receive any funding support from the local authority and rely on the generosity and support of local businesses and personal donations. If you would like to help us continue this work, please contact the church office for further information.
