![]() | RICHARD BURFOOT is our Minister for Pastoral Care (Team Leader) and came to West Cliff Baptist Church in June 2008. He married Faith in 1985 and they have three children: Georgina, Hannah and Ryan. Richard has responsibility for pastoral care and discipleship and is a passionate and gifted worship leader. Above all, he has a real heart to see people embrace their true identity and freedom as God's precious children. When he's not working, Richard enjoys reading, walking the family Whippet, loves family holidays in France and can often be found in, on or by the sea.

![]() | VAL DOWNHAM first came to West Cliff with her husband Mac in 1993 when they relocated to Bournemouth. Between them they have 4 children and 10 grandchildren. Val is a Deacon and our Church Administrator, as well as serving the church in a variety of other ways including working in the kitchen with our homeless outreach and she co-leads our teenage girls group. Val is a member of The Fitness League and enjoys yoga for exercise and pilates. Her passion is country/coastal walking. Having attended a church since childhood, Val didn't come to know the Lord as her own personal Saviour until joining Kennet Valley Free Church in Reading in about 1985/6 where she and Mac were nurtured to a personal faith. "When Mac sadly died in October 2006, I knew the Lord had work for me to do when I was ready and each year He has faithfully led, guided, guarded, protected and provided, according to my needs. I serve a faithful God!"

| PETER COLEMAN has been married to Margaret for almost 45 years. They have a son (Richard), a daughter (Karen) and 2 really grand children (Sam and Hannah). A Member of West Cliff for 10 years and a Deacon for 9 years, Peter has recently handed over the responsibilities of church Fabric Steward, which have occupied him for the past 10 years. Being retired from his 'day job', Peter's daily activities have ranged from child-minding grandchildren to dealing with maintenance issues of the church premises. Hobbies and interests include DIY, music concerts, visiting National Trust properties and generally driving around Dorset and the New Forest. Peter is passionate about Sunday worship, especially the exposition of God's Word. He loves seeing new believers discover a new life in Christ and experiencing the more intimate setting of a home group. "I came to faith and was baptised in 1953, having been raised within a loving Christian family. The experiences of two years National Service in the RAF provided a significant challenge and boost to my faith in God. Before our move to Bournemouth, we spent 34 years in Tunbridge Wells where we were members of a Baptist church there."

| STELLA WINT is married to Les and has two daughters, Bethan and Zoe. She has lived in Poole since 2000 and have been worshipping at West Cliff since 2001. She works for a charity and in her spare time enjoys long walks along our beautiful coastline, reading and listening to music. "I experience a real joy in beign part of a community of people sharing and discussing God's Word and worshipping Him".

| JAKE PAINE grew up in Guernsey, ("the best of the Channel Islands"), where most of his family still live. He came to faith when he was 15 and baptised a year later. Jake moved to England in 2002 to study at Moorlands College. Whilst on his course he began attending West Cliff as part of his weekly placement. On his very first Sunday he knew it was where God was calling him to be, and in 2004 Jake came into membership. Following his training at Moorlands College Jake went on to work for a local organisation with the homeless, it was here he met his wife, Hannah. Jake is now works full-time for a Christian organisation as a homelessness outreach worker. When he he is not working, he enjoys kayaking, watching movies, and when the energy finds him - working out at the local gym. "In January this year I became a part of the leadership team here at West Cliff and have begun serving as a Deacon. Over the last few years it has been exciting to see the church grow and change and I now have the pleasure of helping with the youth work".

| CHRISTINE has enjoyed a long association with West Cliff Baptist Church. She was a regular Sunday School attender from age 5, a member of the Youth Fellowship and a Sunday School teacher. Christine was first received into Church Membership following her believer's baptism at age 16 years. Christine is currently blessed to have returned to Membership and to have the privilege of working with professional and committed colleagues in Social Care. Christine has a longstanding and established network of friends and neighbours in Westbourne and the local community and is keen to contribute in faith every day. |
